Five Quick Things 010
a new release, the story behind a chilling playlist, a recipe for the week, and our new family read aloud
Spring has sprung! It’s sunny and in the 60s here in New England this week, and the longer days have put everyone in better spirits. We’re enjoying a mostly boring week before a weekend filled with sleepovers and time with friends. I’m keeping this week’s email short so you can get outside and enjoy some sunshine (hopefully it’s sunny wherever you are!)
Happy Release Day to My Friends Kim & Erin!
I am so thrilled to celebrate the release of The Beauty of Motherhood, written by my friends Kim Knowle-Zweller and Erin Strybis. This book is the very book I searched for and could never find when my kids were tiny. You can read my thoughts about the book here.
One Playlist to Make you Think
This playlist of ice shifting and melting is both haunting and oddly calming all at once.
The Story Behind the Playlist
This (gifted) article, with pictures, shares the story behind The Music of Ice. It’s well worth the read.
Recipe to Make This Week
I’ve probably shared these Cheesy White Beans with Tomatoes with you before, but this recipe never, ever gets old. It’s perfect for those days when you spend too many hours in the Spring sunshine and have no idea what to make for dinner.
One Book to Read With Your Kids
We Dream of Space is about a family with three middle schoolers in 1986. Leading up to the Challenger launch, they learn about space exploration at school and are given an assignment to create and complete their own space mission. At its heart, it’s a book about our human desire to belong. And it’s filled with 1980s references, so it makes for a very fun trip down memory lane for those of us parents who remember what life was like in 1986.
It’s so hard to believe next week is already the end of March! My free newsletter will come out next Wednesday. Would you do me a favor and invite a friend or two to subscribe this week? I’d be ever so grateful!
Until next time,
