We are in the last week of Spring and everything around us is feeling a little more like Summer. We finished all of our lessons last week, we had our second beach day of the season yesterday, and we’re wrapping up the second weekend of recitals in the next few days. Although I’m still working on finishing my manuscript draft to submit because of a crazy recital season, my Heart to Page Class has ended and I’m already feeling sad about not having it next year.
I hope as Summer progresses, and space opens a bit in my calendar, Substack becomes a more regular thing for me. I’ve missed being here with you! So in this time of transition from one season to another — in more ways than one — I thought I’d finally send out a few of the links I’ve been compiling over the last several months.
One
I was twenty years old when I told my church I didn’t think they were following the way of Jesus Christ. Stories like this one break my heart. I don’t care who you love, there’s a place for you in Jesus Christ.
Two
Need a fast meal for this weekend? I made a triple batch of these Teriyaki Lentils this week. I brought one batch to a family who is going through some hard times, one batch to a family with a new baby, and one batch for my freezer. No matter who I bring this recipe to, they always love it.
Three
Want to know why people voted for Trump and still support him? Sometimes it’s because of stories like these.
Four
Did you know the corn tortilla is just one big chemistry experiment?
Five
My kids taught themselves how to print their letters on their own, so when it came time for handwriting instruction, I started with cursive. I’m so glad I did.
Until next time,
I'm signed up for Heart to Page this next year! So glad to hear you had such a great experience doing it! (Although, I'm not surprised! Anything Callie teaches is amazing!)
