Gone With the Wind! All the critiques are absolutely valid. I get it, and absolutely read it through a different lens now. And yet: the storytelling. It's epic. Has there ever been a character like Scarlett O'Hara in all of literature?
I read Gone With the Wind for the first time in high school, loved it, and probably read it 10 times during high school and college (and still have my very well-worn copy on my shelf), but my perspective has shifted so much since then that I’ve been nervous to return to it.
